Saxophonist Ross Rizzo grew up in San Diego, California.
Ross attended Poway High School which earned many awards for
their outstanding music program. Ross held lead chair
positions in the top concerts bands and sat Baritone sax in
the advanced jazz ensemble. After graduating Poway High,
Ross attended Palomar College where many of the top jazz
musicians in the country educated him. The likes of Keith
Jacobson, Christopher Hollyday and Gunnar Biggs helped him
create a unique style and flair. An exemplar student and
multi-instrumentalist also playing guitar, flute and
clarinet Ross is well versed in many styles and forms
including Jazz, Funk, Rock, Nu-Jazz, R&B and Latin. Ross is
now attending California State University San Marcos
pursuing economics and music performance degrees. Ross has
shared stages with Eric Marienthal, Richard Elliott,
Rockola, Minga and Keith Jacobson as a sax and guitar
player. A leader of his own group and a regular in many
other groups around town, there are many possibilities to
hear him play. Ross would like to thank all of his
supportive family and friends and the ever-special people
that are so far away, that still mean so much... and of course
to that one girl somewhere that made it so easy to place the
notes where they felt they should be placed :) |
